Secrets of the Rainbow Bridge

Baudwin is a water Faery who is two hundred years old – still quite young mind you. For his entire life he has wondered where his mother vanished, after a time of great travail and upheaval in his realm. This burden has been quite heavy, as without her, he was never joined to his current so he could live as he should – at one with the Water. Ever ready to lift his grandson’s spirits, his grandfather, Seamus, encourages him to find the Water – or to have the Water come to him – a ridiculous prospect for a water Faery not joined to his current. After decades of trials, the Water finally does come to Baudwin – defying all expectations. The Water then leads him down an unexpected path that unfolds into an epic adventure with myriad discoveries filled with elven inventions, ancient wonders, and a being who seeks to shape his destiny through the most compassionate and terrifying means possible.

Secrets of the Rainbow Bridge: Book One will take you through a tale told in a mythic-storybook style, with numerous references to Celtic culture, all set in a finely detailed and well bounded fantasy realm. Aurali

Meet Aurali, a broken hearted faery whose dire warning on page one of Secrets of the Rainbow Bridge (SOTRB) welcomes you to the Otherworld–where the Light is quickly fading, and a great befalling has scarred the hearts of elves and faeries. Time is running out to discover the truth.

Baudwin

We’re very pleased to introduce you to Baudwin, the hero of our story, a water faery from the hamlet of Deuona.

Baudwin lives with his father and grandfather, helping to operate a dam that provides water to neighboring farms. He is a spirited, adventurous soul, with a brave heart and an important destiny he must grow into.

Kelven

Kelven, Baudwin’s father, is quieter and more soft-spoken than his son, although he can also be quite stubborn when he and Baudwin get into disagreements. He works at the dam with Baudwin, and grinds grain at the family mill. He also helps to manage the affairs of the Water Guild.

Seamus

Seamus, Baudwin’s grandfather, is bold, big-hearted and larger than life. Although he can be stuck in his ways, he is fiercely loyal to the traditions of the Water Guild. Our story begins with Seamus asking Baudwin for something special that he keeps in his room, so he can defend and uphold water faery gnàs, or custom.

Criofan

Criofan is one of Baudwin’s best friends. He’s quite a fancy dresser, and always looks his best. The ladies love his cool, confident charm, and so will you! When he performs with Baudwin in their acrobatic troupe, he never misses a trick. As a member of the Water Guild, he’s loyal to the old ways, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like to try out new things.

Matha

Matha is Baudwin’s other best friend. He’s very perceptive, and he likes to analyze the world around him. He spends a lot of time studying Elven inventions, and digging around old ruins. However, he’s no pushover — he performs with Baudwin in their acrobatic troupe, and he can also handle himself in rough situations. Matha is a member of the Water Guild, but he believes they don’t understand their origins very well.

Ferrell

Elves and Faeries better be on their best behavior around Ferrell! A high ranking Elven officer like him can get an Elf or Faery in real trouble if they don’t follow the rules. He believes in the promise of Elven inventions, and takes every opportunity to promote them. He constantly reads between the lines and is extremely calculating in word and deed. What exactly is he after? Surely, no one knows but him.

Shibeel

Wise and helpful Shibeel is a wood Faery who lives far removed from the world, with various woodland creatures to keep her company. She understands things most have forgotten, and bides her time waiting for her chance to share her secrets. What purpose does she serve? You will have to read to find out!

In Baudwin’s spare time, he enjoys collecting Elven Steamway inventions and performing with his acrobatic troupe.
